Q&A with Ruby

Q: What does a typical day in the office look like for you?
A: I get in at 8, make coffee and then check my emails and daily operational tasks. Usually that entails verifying trades and distributions from the day before. After those tasks are done, I often make trades in client accounts based on instructions from Eduardo and Aly. I meet with wholesalers about once a week to gain market insights and learn about new funds that could fit in our models. One of my favorite things to do is help develop new models or investment strategies using our investment screening software and optimization tools. I also love getting the opportunity to write or edit blog posts and informational presentations, as I believe financial literacy is an important life skill everyone should get the chance to develop.

Q: What do you find most rewarding about your work?
A:  I have found that learning about personal finance feels important and empowering. It is also truly rewarding to connect with clients and to get the opportunity to make stressful decisions and life events simpler and more straight forward for them.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Claremont?
A: I love sitting in the sun outside Bridges Auditorium with my childhood friends, whether we’re crafting, reading, or just having a chat.

Q: What are you reading/watching right now?
A:  I am reading the book, Cuba: An American History by Ada Ferrer. It's exceptional. I’m also watching Love Island season 8 because people contain multitudes.

Q: What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A:    My first job was coaching gymnastics at Blady View Gymnastics in Upland!

I am so glad I get the chance to tell you a little bit more about myself – thanks for reading! The truth is, I didn’t expect to work in finance after college, but I feel so grateful to be a part of this team. The lessons I have learned and the connections I continue to make every day are incredibly valuable to me. Stark Wealth Management is a family, and you – our clients – are an indispensable part of it. I love working with you.
